Spa reopens May 2006 after a period of renovation necessitated by hurricane damage.

Description: 550-acre historic resort on Mobile Bay. The hotel was built in 1847 and had an extreme makeover in 2004 including development of The Spa, renovation of all guest rooms, improvement of 37,000 square feet of meeting space and renovation of the Dogwood and Azalea golf courses. The Spa at The Grand has been ranked #1 in the U.S. for guest satisfaction among Marriott spas.

Spa Facilities: 20,000 square foot European spa has nine temperature-controlled treatment rooms, Vichy shower and hydrotherapy, Separate male and female sauna and steam rooms, salon and nail-care center,The Quiet Room is a tranquil space, with mosaic tiled walls and salt lamps, that is created to rejuvenate and revitalize the guests, allowing them to shed the day's worries and leave all their concerns behind. Guests may refresh themselves with fresh fruit and water while listening to the subtle sounds of instrumental music, or by relaxing in the sauna or whirlpool. The Fitness Center is located on the 1st Floor Spa Building and includes a Gulf-side cardiovascular center, Movement studio for yoga, Pilates, and group classes, Personal training, Indoor lap pool, Spa boutique.
