Hotel Spa |
Description: Housed in a former 14th-century
monastery, Mandarin Oriental, Prague, is situated in the picturesque Mala
Strana (Little Quarter) district in the very heart of Pragues
historic centre. A five-minute walk from the iconic Charles Bridge, the
hotel is nestled in a tranquil, charming neighbourhood of palaces, cobblestone
piazzas, churches and parks.
Spa Facilities: The 750 square-metre,
two-floor Spa is situated within a small Renaissance church; a glass bridge
over the nave lobby connects the two parts of the building. During the
renovation the ancient remnants of a Gothic church were discovered and
have been preserved as a historic feature under a glass floor. Entirely
private, guests can retreat in their robes through an underground passageway
linked directly to the main building and their rooms. There are seven
private treatment rooms, two of which are couples suites for simultaneous
therapies. Loosen limbs and soothe muscles in the hydrotherapy and heat
areas including Rasul, lifestyle shower and vitality pool. After your
treatment, retire to the relaxation area and fully savour the experience.
In addition, there is a beauty treatment room for full service; manicure,
pedicure, facials and if you are celebrating a special occasion, professional
make-up services are also available. There is a separate 125 square-metre
fully equipped fitness centre.
Other Facilities: The hotel offers
99 guest rooms including 22 suites, many with fine views of the Old Town
and the Prague Castle. Authentic historical details such as high arched
or vaulted ceilings and original parquet floors have been preserved throughout
the hotel. Each guest room features two telephone lines with voicemail,
high-speed internet access, as well as two high-definition LCD television
sets, one in the bathroom and another in the bedroom (suites have an extra
set.) Limestone bathrooms with heated floors are furnished with essential
oils and balms. The signature Essensia restaurant is dedicated to European
and Asian flavours; the sleek, chic Barego bar was created to become the
best bar in the city, while the airy Monastery Lounge tempts with afternoon
tea and cocktails. A magnificent Grand Ballroom with a high vaulted ceiling
and state-of-the-art technology is the centrepiece of the hotels
event facilities, while several smaller rooms offer additional meeting
and private dining options.
