Description: The $90 million Zermatt Resort & Spa held its grand opening September 13. 2006. The resort resembles a Swiss village and features a four-story, 226-room hotel, roughly 125 condominiums, three restaurants, a conference center, a spa and a golf course. Dolce International manages Zermatt.

Treatments & Programs: The Spa at Zermatt provides a complete menu of European-inspired body treatments, including manicures and pedicures. Luxurious Swiss-influenced body treatments feature products from Switzerland and include facials, massages, body and exfoliation treatments, all designed to relax the body and invigorate the spirit.

Spa Facilities: Inspired by traditional spas and baths in Europe, The Spa at Zermatt incorporates European elegance in its design and decor. Spanning three stories and more than 17,000-square-feet, The Spa at Zermatt creates a serene setting complete with waterfalls, 11 treatment rooms, a co-ed steam room, private steam rooms and dry saunas, and a state-of-the-art fitness center. The first floor of The Spa at Zermatt features a magnificent pool with indoor and outdoor portions. The indoor pool has a two-story waterfall spilling into a luxurious whirlpool, where guests can sit on rocks under cascading warm water. Guests can swim under a rock swim-through to access the outdoor pool, which is heated year round. The Swiss ambience of the resort and the serene mountain setting of the area are reflected in every detail of the European spa, located on the second floor. Guests change into plush robes and wait in private relaxation nooks surrounded by water fountains and fresh plants, before being led to their spa treatment room. There are ten treatment rooms, including two hydrotherapy rooms and intimate couples room, along with a room used exclusively for nail services. Following spa treatments, guests can relax in private saunas and steam rooms. Additionally, the "Ruheraum," or Room of Tranquility, is designed for guests to relax in their spa robes surrounded by rock, beamed ceilings and an old world fireplace, while enjoying signature herbal teas and spring water. The "Steam Grotto" allows more than 20 people at a time to sit in a magnificent old rock steam room. Inside the "Steam Grotto" is a full-body Swiss shower where guests can cool down or get a full-body massage from the multiple shower heads. The third floor features an extensive wellness center covering nearly 4,000-square-feet and providing cardiovascular and weight training equipment. The cardiovascular equipment is situated for guests to look out of windows onto breathtaking mountain views or, if they prefer, watch TV on mounted flat-screen televisions. In addition to these services, a full schedule of classes and activities is provided, ranging from yoga to Bosu.

Other Facilities: Golf, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, tennis, volleyball, basketball, retail shopping, kids club. The fitness center features state-of-the-art cardiovascular and physical training equipment. The authentic Swiss charm of Zermatt is further enhanced by its European Carousel, Indoor Recreation Center and Zermatt's natural phenomena - geothermal hot springs which can be used in the Winter for scuba diving or just relaxing. The area surrounding Zermatt Resort is filled with a variety of recreational activities. Enjoy mountain biking, skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, hiking, alpine and Nordic skiing, water sports, air gliding and hot air ballooning. Or take a historic journey through Heber Valley and Provo Canyon on the only steam locomotive between Colorado and California.
