New Jersey - The Day Spa Association has completed its first round
of spa charities on the associations' website www.dayspaassociation.com.
"The spa industry is very active in helping
the less privileged", says Hannelore R. Leavy, DSA's Executive
Director. "When we first started to post the charities we
are endorsing, we received an outpour of comments and donations
for the causes we are involved in. Since then, we have urged our
members to let us know about their charity events and have now
completed posting the initial list of events taking place around
the world on http://www.dayspaassociation.com/mainpages/charities.
"This posting is FREE for everyone involved
in the spa industry, DSA members and non-members alike can post
their charities with us", says Leavy. "We hope that
we can make a difference in many peoples' lives to support the
spa industry's effort to raise funds for various causes."
We invite you to read about the many different venues
individuals and businesses are employing to help numerous charity
organizations and hopefully, this will open up many hearts (and
purses) to contribute to one or more of those listed. Or better
yet, it may inspire those spas and spa suppliers who do not yet
have a fund raising program to start their own efforts on behalf
of their favorite charity and/or get involved in those listed
like signing up with AmericaDollars, help us with the Weekends
of Hope Foundation or contribute discontinued items to our homeless
/ battered women shelter.
We are also posting results and pictures, such as
completed challenges (climbing mountains, finishing pilgrimages,
running marathons and more). So, come back often and cheer those
who have taken up the challenge to lend a hand (or feet) in making
a difference!
If you are planning a new event we want to hear
from you. Remember, this is at no cost to you and may help you
reach the goal you set yourself quicker and/or even exceed it
beyond your expectations! Make sure you send the information as
soon as it becomes available to DaySpaAssn@aol.com,
so it can be posted well ahead of schedule to produce the ultimate
results.
Spa technicians & body workers are in the unique
position to help save lives that may be lost through melanoma.
The International Medical Spa Association, in affiliation with
The Day Spa Association and in cooperation with Skin Inc. &
the Melanoma Research Foundation have designed a colorful poster
explaining the ABCs of Melanoma. This poster should be hanging
on the wall of every treatment room, in every spa and every esthetician
& massage therapist should be familiar with the early signs
of this deadly disease. Early detection will help us conquer melanoma!
Proceeds from the poster sale benefit The Melanoma Research Foundation.
To order your poster(s) you can click through from
the DSA charity page or go to www.medicalspaassociation.com.
The Day Spa Association is committed to promote our members' businesses;
