The BISA Spa Association will be holding their annual conference
at Beardmore Conference Hotel outside Glasgow between Friday 29th
and Sunday 31st October, 2004. This will be the premier networking
and educational event in the spa world this year. The theme of the
conference is "Wellness through water".
Delegates can expect to hear from an international cast of speakers
and experience first hand a range of therapies, including the awesome
"Liquid Sound®" underwater light and sound therapy
from Germany. This amazing new bathing experience engulfs bathers
in a blend of coloured lights, music and nature sounds, to enhance
the therapeutic qualities of the waters.
One of the main features of the conference will be the official
launch by the Scottish Qualifications Authority of the new Diploma
in Spa Therapies. As far as education is concerned this is without
doubt the biggest thing to hit the spa world ever. This course is
set to standardise training and raise the benchmark for the professional
internationally.
Other themes include "Medical wellness and tourism" and
"Getting the most from your spa". Experts from the Far
East, France, Iceland, Germany and the UK will be on hand to discuss
therapies, public relations, partnerships for training and the spa
experience around the world.
There will be time set aside for socialising, sharing treatments
and visiting some of the most scenic parts of the country. The conference
is designed to be a largely informal event to foster a feeling of
belonging and sharing in the spa world.
The conference will have a distinct Scottish flavour from the setting
on the banks of the Clyde to the ceilidh (pronounced Kaylee) dance
on Saturday night.
