The Day Spa Association Announces
Day Spa Expo
Union City, NJ, August 2005 The Day Spa Association
(DSA) has entered into an agreement with Bentley International Group,
Inc., a Tradeshow & Association Management Company, to create
the first-ever exposition geared solely to the day spa owner and manager.
We are extremely excited and pleased to present
this first-ever business forum & expo dedicated to day spa owners,
operators and managers, comments Hannelore Leavy, Founder and
Executive Director of The Day Spa Association. Ever since I
created the first Spa Symposium back in 1990 from which ISPA emerged,
I have been anxious to create an event that speaks to the day spa
directly, as most issues facing the day spa owner/manager are totally
different than those facing resort/destination spas operators and
managers. Now, in teaming with Bentley International Group on Day
Spa Expo this much-needed program will finally come to fruition.
The Day Spa Expo (DSE) will be held at the Mandalay
Bay in Las Vegas February 8 & 9, 2006. The DSA will be creating
a one-day business forum on Tuesday, February 7th that will present
not only the latest technology, products and trends, but will provide
business information, tools, workshops and round-tables to benefit
this largest segment of the spa industry.
DSAs Advisory Board Member, Douglas Preston of
Preston Inc. has graciously accepted the responsibility as the program
coordinator. "This is a long-needed opportunity for day spa professionals
to access the education and resources necessary to stay competitive
in a fast-evolving market. The Day Spa Association is excited to assemble
one of the most valuable rosters of classes and presenters ever offered
to the day spa industry. Our aim is to provide attendees with real
"how-to" spa management methods and tools that can be used
immediately to improve business performance. And because we've identified
the day spa's most difficult personnel, sales, and marketing challenges,
our educational program will go far to help all that need solutions
in these critical areas of management."
In addition to the one-day educational forum, there
will be educational events throughout the following two days during
the exposition. Speakers/Presenters who are interested in leading
a workshop or holding a class room should contact Douglas Preston
at Douglas@prestoninc.com.
Please send a synopsis and a short presentation outline for his and
his committees consideration. Exhibitors interested in participating
should contact Shane OSheeran of Day Spa Expo at shaneo@bentleyintl.net.
Educational Forum Sponsorship information will be available through
the DSA and should be directed to Hannelore@dayspaassociation.com.
The Day Spa Association (DSA) is a professional membership-based
trade organization founded in 1991. The focus is to serve as the primary
business resource for day spa professionals through educational seminars
and workshops, research studies, publications and Internet informational
exchanges. Further, DSA advocates members' businesses by enhancing
consumer awareness and demand for spa services and products. In addition,
to protect consumers, DSA establishes a standard of excellence to
assure the continuous elevation of professionalism and quality driven
services in the day spa industry.
