Tenaya
Lodge at Yosemite Names Kate Riley Director of New Spa, ASCENT
33-year
veteran to oversee new 10,000-square-foot spa and wellness center opening this
summer
FISH CAMP, Calif. (May 20, 2010) Tenaya
Lodge at Yosemite today announced that it has appointed Kate Riley as director
of the newly-built Ascent, the Spa at Tenaya Lodge, a 10,000-square-foot spa and
wellness center scheduled to open end of June 2010. Riley brings more than 33
years experience as a massage therapist, yoga teacher and director at world-class
spas and wellness centers.
Riley began her career in 1976,
having since served multiple roles ranging from practitioner, teacher and even
host and producer of a weekly television show on health issues. Her studies and
teachings include both Eastern and Western modalities of bodywork, energy work,
shamanic healing, Reiki, and the psychology of the human form. In her role as
spa director for Ascent, the Spa at Tenaya Lodge, Riley will oversee the development
and implementation of products and services for the new all-season resort spa,
and be responsible for ongoing management.
Before joining Tenayas
Ascent team, Riley served as Spa Director at Spa Gaia, part of Californias
first fully environmental sustainable green hotel, Gaia Napa Valley
Hotel and Spa. During her tenure, Riley implemented programs and procedures in
2007-2009 that are nine of the ten spa trends forecasted for 2010 by SpaFinder.
Rileys previous experience also includes roles at Omni Interlocken Resort
in Denver, Colorado and Los Abrigados Resort and Enchantment Resort in Sedona,
Arizona.
