San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, December 15, 2011 – Hotel Matilda (www.hotelmatilda.com) has promoted Alondra Saldarriaga to the position of Spa Director, announced General Manager Bruce James.

Ms. Saldarriaga has taken the reins of both Spa Matilda, offering an innovative treatment menu and personalized spa experiences, and Spa en Vivo, the hotel’s prototypal “living spa” in nature located 10 minutes away in the countryside.

Ms. Saldarriaga joined the staff of Hotel Matilda in August 2010 as Assistant Spa Director. Prior to Hotel Matilda, she was a sales representative with Natura Bissé International in Mexico City. In Toronto, Canada, she earned a diploma from the Humber Esthetician & Spa Management College, where she also completed esthetician training at the school’s Humber Spa.

Spa Matilda is an integral component of the lifestyle-focused guest experience at Hotel Matilda. An intimate haven of comfort and sophistication, it offers integrated spa experiences that combine traditional and innovative spa therapies, beauty treatments, fitness services and wellness offerings. Treatments are customized to the individual needs and personal goals of the individual guest. The Apothecary showcases indigenous healing traditions with hand-blended treatment products inspired by the regional culture and composed of locally procured artisanal ingredients.

The 4,700-square-foot spa, set in a tranquil garden ambiance, has four treatment rooms including a couple’s room, wellness studio (for yoga and Pilates) and a private luxury spa suite featuring a mediation garden, lounge, steam shower, soaking tub and dedicated grooming area. There are sitting areas for pre- and post-treatment quiet time including two patios and an indoor/outdoor Relaxation Lounge with a fireplace. The fitness facility features cardio- and strength-training equipment, and a studio for personal training, stretching and functional movement.

In addition to Spa Matilda, Hotel Matilda offers Spa en Vivo. In a beautiful nature setting with mineral-rich thermal springs, lush gardens and expansive panoramas, guests enjoy therapeutic soaking in the waters, massages and other treatments, yoga and pilates, gourmet dining and wines, relaxation and meditation.
