Mandarin Oriental, San Francisco Names Kristy Whitford Director of Spa
Kristy Whitford, a 12-year veteran of the luxury spa industry, has been named Mandarin Oriental, San Francisco’s Director of Spa. In her new role, Ms. Whitford will oversee the operations and staffing of the new state-of-the-art 8,000 square-foot Spa and Fitness Center at Mandarin Oriental, San Francisco scheduled to open beginning of October.
Ms. Whitford arrives to The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, San Francisco from the renowned Elizabeth Arden Red Door Day Spa in San Francisco. During her recent tenure as general manager, Ms. Whitford successfully promoted the brand’s legendary techniques while simultaneously achieving sales goals and business objectives. “Kristy brings vast knowledge and extensive industry experience to our new spa ,” says Cliff Atkinson, General Manager, Mandarin Oriental, San Francisco . “The Spa will offer an urban oasis providing exceptional customer service to our guests.”

Born and raised in California, Ms. Whitford began her career as a spa concierge supervisor and has developed her distinctive approach to wellness through extensive work in California’s Bay Area. In addition to her zeal for the health and spa industries, Ms. Whitford is an avid golfer, a wine enthusiast and an apprentice of foreign languages.
