The International Medical Spa Association
Names New Board of Directors and Medical Advisory Board
December 21, 2004 (Union City, NJ) - The International
Medical Spa Association (IMSA) recently elected the new 2005-2006 Board
of Directors and Medical Advisory Board at its annual Board and Sustaining
Members meeting. The election was held in San Francisco during the annual
Face and Body Expo. IMSA founder Hannelore R. Leavy retains her title
as Executive Director, and Eric J. Light, founder of the Strawberry
Hill Group, will serve as president. Also elected to the Board:

The Boards first order of business was to appoint
a new medical advisory board for the organization. Appointees include:

Ms. Leavy expressed her delight at having a Board that
so aptly represents the diversity of the international medical spa community.
I am honored to have a Board that collectively has literally hundreds
of years of experience in the spa and medical fields, stated Ms.
Leavy. The individuals and their companies are the whos
who of the medical spa industry; they all are committed to the
vision of merging medicine and spa for the total well being of clients/patients.
President-elect Eric J. Light says hes equally enthused
about the new Board and is eager to begin implementing key objectives
in the coming year. As a result of a very dynamic meeting of our
new Board of Directors, the Association is positioned to continue to
meet the growing needs of our industry. The new leadership has put into
motion an expanded set of programs to provide consumers and professionals
alike with the resources needed to ensure our industrys continued
expansion.
The International Medical Spa Association (IMSA) was formed
in 2002 under the leadership of Hannelore Leavy, Executive Director
of the Day Spa Association. The IMSA membership includes naturopathic
and osteopathic physicians; dentists, internists, dermatologists and
plastic surgeons; physical therapists and massage therapists; medical
spa owners, consultants, medical spa facility designers, product manufacturers,
and product suppliers. IMSA is dedicated to the promotion of excellence,
innovation, and cooperation within the medical spa industry, and serves
