Resort's Aquae Sulis Spa Sales Manager
Las
Vegas, Nevada JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort, Spa & Golf announces
the promotion of Tania Thompson to Sales Manager at Aquae Sulis Spa.
Thompson joined the spa team in September, 2003 as receptionist, however
it became evident very quickly to her superiors that Thompson was destined
for bigger and better things.
“Tania is a wonderful addition to our management
team at Aquae Sulis,” says Arzu Delp, Spa Director. “She brings
a wealth of life experience and knowledge to the spa and fresh new ideas
to compliment our world class facility.”
Born in Auckland, New Zealand, Thompson graduated from
Swinburne University in Melbourne, Australia with a degree in Business
Management. After graduation, she moved to the Cook Islands and helped
open and manage a restaurant called the Blue Note Café in Rarotonga,
Cook Islands. While there, she trained under Austrian Chef Hubert Amman
and completed a course in Restaurant Management.
After two years on the island and being bit by the travel
bug, Thompson was ready for new adventures. Taking the training she
had acquired in the restaurant business, she decided on a career in
yachting, an industry that would help her see the world at the pace
she desired.
Among the new and exciting experiences Thompson was exposed
to, visiting luxury spas was a favorite, giving her a feeling of true
relaxation in a tranquil environment. Tucking the notion of someday
working in the spa industry in the back of her mind, she continued on
her journey.
During a stop in Palau, Thompson was bit by yet another
type of bug…the love bug. Meeting her husband, Richard a Navy Seal
visiting the Island, Thompson traveled to San Diego months later to
help her new friend and future husband recover from knee surgery and
never left.
After getting married in San Diego in September, 2002
Thompson and her husband chose to leave their beloved water and move
inland to the desert to set down some roots. With all of the growth
and opportunities in Las Vegas, the two felt it was the town to now
call home.
Thompson has found the beauty that the Nevada desert has
to offer in Red Rock Canyon and spends her spare time hiking the hills
and communing with nature as she has done all of her life.
