Spa on The Rocks Opens at the Ritz

Apr 25, 2005 - A never seen before spa destination in Bali has opened
at The Ritz-Carlton, Bali Resort & Spa with the luxurious Spa on
the Rocks, an extraordinary facility anchored offshore by natural rocks
in the midst of the shimmering Indian Ocean.
Located below the resorts towering cliff face the incredible
positioning of the villas perched on natural rocks stretching out from
the Indian Ocean is as unique as it is indulgent for its lavish treatment
and exclusive use of the world’s finest spa product, Crème
de La Mer.
Ingeniously created to give an illusion of being suspended
above the ocean, two stunningly appointed air-conditioned treatment
villas surrounded by a majestic sea provide an oceanic odyssey of the
senses. Guests will experience the sounds of waves gently lulling against
the sturdy rocks, feel soft sea-breezes drift into the private rooms
and be invigorated by the scent of refreshing ocean mists.
The double and single treatment rooms each with rain shower
and oversized bathtubs laden with 1500 scented red rose petals daily
feature either an incredible 270 degree Indian Ocean view and double
futon beds for couple treatments or 180 degree ocean views and a single
raised treatment bed in the single room.
The thatched roof enclosed timber villas also feature
beautiful furnishings such as marble washstands and customized glass
pebbles created by celebrated Japanese glass artist Seiki Torige and
are scenically flanked by the resorts towering cliffs and pristine Kubu
Beach.
Of the two treatments on offer at Spa on the Rocks for
just three select sessions per day, an indulgent two-hour rebalancing
Aroma Sensation treatment has been designed to deliver complete relaxation
and sensory pleasures through foot reflexology and body massage using
specially blended aromatherapy ingredients and essential oils and a
softening and toning facial using Thermes Marins seaweed based scrubs,
masques and anti-aging serums.
The ultra luxurious two and a half hour Diamond Miracle
treatment is a pampering experience combining a foot soak and massage,
body scrub and a sensual ocean splash petal bath of 500 freshly picked
red-rose petals. A therapeutic massage utilizing oils bound with elements
of silk and pearl precedes the treatment highlight, a Crème de
La Mer facial that uses a precious formula of sea quartz and pure diamond
dust pioneered by Dr. Max Huber.
The finale to this spectacular treatment is a fabulous
feast of strawberries and chilled Veuve Cliquot Ponsardin Champagne
served in sparkling crystal flutes.
Additionally, guests are able to enjoy the stunning Spa
on the Rocks location for romantic sunset dinners when the main spa
villa is transformed into a magnificent private dining venue complete
with an exquisitely prepared five-course meal, butler service, torch
lit candles and romantic music.
An additional romantic dinner venue is also offered in
an open-air dining pavilion on a nearby rock overhanging the resorts
private Kubu Beach.
Spa on the Rocks is an addition to the resorts award winning Thalasso
Spa and is accessible only via descending stairs and a bridged walkway
stretching out to the rocks from the resorts cliff face.
