TELLURIDE, Colo. - (June 13, 2005) The
Golden Door® Spa at the Wyndham Peaks is getting a facelift
(completely natural of course)! Beginning this month, Tellurides
premier mountain retreat will undergo a $1.3 million renovation on
its world-renowned 42,000-square-foot spa. Renovations will commence
on the whirlpools, saunas and steam rooms followed by the second floor
treatment rooms for completion by November 2005.
The winning combination of the premiere Golden Door spa brand
with the natural beauty of Telluride, has long made the Wyndham Peaks
Resort a top-ranking destination among both spa-goers and outdoor
enthusiasts, said Zachary Frangos, general manager of the Wyndham
Peaks Resort & Golden Door Spa. With spa renovations underway,
we hope to further entice our guests to experience the innovative
services that Golden Door is known for, and provide a fresh ambiance
for spa connoisseurs to enjoy the classic programs and treatments
they have come to love.
The comprehensive renovation will completely transform the existing
space inside the Golden Door Spa. Second floor treatment rooms will
be refurbished with new flooring, walls and cabinetry in addition
to new and updated equipment to improve the spa treatment experience.
The weight areas and Japanese Tea Room will undergo extensive re-design
as well. More couples treatment rooms will be added with a gain of
two treatment rooms by the time the renovation is complete, resulting
in a total of 46 treatment spaces.
The Golden Door Spa at the Wyndham Peaks has become a haven for guests
traveling to Telluride. Taking the lead from the original Golden Door
in Escondido, Calif., the Spa offers an extensive menu of treatments
that incorporate the indigenous ingredients and history of its mountain
setting, from rejuvenating massage therapies and facials to Eastern-inspired
treatments and Ayurveda. Innovative treatments are also accessible
at the Golden Door Spa such as Acupuncture and Facial Acupuncture
Rejuvenation, which have become widely popular with spa guests. With
over 50 treatments to choose from, the Spa offers something for every
spa-goer
even the canine set. The well-received Doggie Spa at
the Wyndham Peaks continues to please Telluride residents and guests
and their four-legged companions.
An extensive schedule of fitness and lifestyle activities is also
available from indoor rock climbing and racquetball to outdoor scenic
guided hikes to new classes in Yoga, Personal Training, Bosu Fusion
and Nutritional Counseling. The Spa has also expanded the Pilates
program with new classes and state-of-the-art equipment. An indoor/outdoor
lap pool and full-service salon complement the comprehensive spa experience
at the Wyndham Peaks.
The Wyndham Peaks Resort & Golden Door Spa features 174 rooms
including 28 suites, all of which offer dramatic views of the San
Juan Mountains through large picture windows. The unparalleled sports
and spa facilities, exceptional service and accommodations are just
a short gondola ride away from the historic town of Telluride and
contribute to the definitive comforts of a Wyndham Peaks stay.
