CAREFREE, Ariz. (Feb. 23, 2005) The AAA Five Diamond Boulders
Resort & Golden Door® Spa A Wyndham Luxury Resort
in Carefree, Ariz., has once again raised the bar. A trend setter
in the spa industry since its opening in 2001, the Golden Door Spa
continues to pioneer the resort spa experience by unveiling an enhanced
spa menu for 2005. The newly added treatments and programs deepen
the already comprehensive experience to spa veterans and newcomers.
Simultaneously, the resort has introduced Golden Door Spa Casitas,
which are custom tailored to the needs and interests of guests.
We focused on current trends that we are seeing at the Golden
Door Spa to create our new spa menu and brochure for 2005, said
Lorraine Park, spa director of the Golden Door Spa at The Boulders.
Weve seen a 30 percent growth in fitness and nutrition
bookings in the past year and decided to expand our offerings with
new health, lifestyle and fitness programs. In addition, we have added
more treatments to meet the desires of guests looking to enhance their
experience with longer, more ritualistic and reflective services.
Taking the lead from the original Golden Door in Escondido, Calif.,
the Golden Door Spa at The Boulders has incorporated more Asian-inspired
treatments to the menu, while also expanding the indigenous offerings
for which the spa has been touted.

Separate Menu for Men
Park has also seen an increase in the number of male bookings since
the Golden Door opened its doors in 2001, with men making up less
than 20 percent of the clientele at that time. In 2004, this number
jumped to 29.2 percent. For this reason, she has introduced a companion
insert to the brochure, entitled, For Men Only. The separate
menu makes it especially convenient for male clientele to make spa
appointments. Treatments include Ashiatsu, an adaptation of an ancient
form of barefoot massage, which involves the therapist holding onto
bars attached to the ceiling. Also featured are the Gentlemans
Facial, Golfers Massage, Personal Training, a Just for
Him spa package, Sport Pedicure and Nutritional Counseling for
Men.
Emphasis on Nutrition
Eight pages of the new brochure are dedicated to lifestyle, health
and fitness, always a hot topic for the New Year. Twenty new services
in nutrition make their debut on the 2005 Golden Door Spa menu at
The Boulders. Examples include Designing Your Diet, Six-Week Weight
Loss Challenge, Anti-Aging Nutrition, Memory Enhancement, Holistic
Stress Management, Osteoporosis & Womens Health, Golden
Door Health & Beauty Secrets and Fight Fat After Forty.
