The Spa at Mandarin Oriental Launches
a Lifestyle Boutique and New Treatments
In
April 2005, the award-winning Spa
at Mandarin Oriental, London launched its new treatment and ritual
range, including enhanced versions of existing favorites and a number
of brand new treats. The 5,200 sq ft floor space has been increased
to incorporate a chic lifestyle boutique showcasing their exclusive
casual wear clothing range and new signature products, including a bath
oil, salt and oil body scrub, candle, oil burner, body oil and burning
oil. This exotic product line has been developed by E'SPA especially
for The Spa at Mandarin Oriental which embodies their passionate philosophy
rooted in Oriental custom, allowing clients to continue to experience
their spa journey at home. These products all contain Mandarin Oriental's
signature essential oils; Frangipani, Jasmine, Mandarin and Patchouli,
evoking an aroma to stir the senses and inspire the soul. The new and
renewed treatments include:
-
Purva Kharma Synchronised Massage - An experience
unlike any other; two therapists work together using oil enriched
balms with fragrant spices from South East Asia to achieve mental
and spiritual bliss.
-
Essential Body Wrap - Nurturing elements harvested
from the earth and oceans provide vitamins, minerals and essential
nutrients to detoxify, re-energize or soothe the entire system.
-
The Age Defyer - A luxurious regenerating facial treatment
specifically created to help combat the signs of ageing and sun-damaged
skin.
-
Life Dance Massage - An all-encompassing ritual including
a welcoming foot cleanse, skin softening salt and oil scrub, gentle
facial cleanse, Shiatsu inspired free flowing massage and a relaxing
Oriental head massage.
-
Chakra Balancing with Hot Stones - A welcoming foot
ritual followed by a full body exfoliation and facial cleansing. The
body is then massaged with a highly concentrated blend of aromatherapy
oils using volcanic hot stones. Stones are carefully placed on body
Chakras at vital energy points and gentle stretching helps release
deep-seated tension ending with an acupressure head massage to soothe
the mind and spirit.
-
Peppermint and Aloe Body Scrub - A restorative treatment
to improve lymphatic circulation through soft skin brushing techniques,
followed by exfoliation using a gentle body polish combining hydrating
aloe, stimulating peppermint and apricot kernel to help remove dead
skin cells, leaving the skin silky smooth.
-
Padabhyanga Foot Therapy - In Ayurvedic philosophy,
the soles of the feet are considered to mirror the systems and functions
of the body. This treatment helps raise natural energy and encourages
the release of tension by resting feet on warm pebbles as they are
bathed, exfoliated and massaged in warm water.
-
The Skin Brightener - A rejuvenating facial, perfect
for all skin conditions, particularly when environmental stress, business
pressure, illness or lack of sleep leave one with dull and tired skin.
The skin regenerating products used are rich in anti-oxidants to soften,
smooth and visibly improve the appearance and texture of the skin.
Open between 7am and 10pm, The Spa at Mandarin Oriental
offers the ultimate urban escape with its innovative concept of booking
