Certified by the American Board of Dermatology, Dr. Schwartz is
a member of several professional associations including the American
Society of Cosmetic Dermatology and Aesthetic Surgery, the American

the New England Dermatology Society and the Vermont Dermatology
Society. After receiving his medical degree from Hahnemann Medical
College in Philadelphia, PA he completed his internship and residency
in internal medicine at St. Mary’s Hospital, a major affiliate
of Yale University, and his dermatology residency at Geisinger Medical
Center in Danville, PA. Dr. Schwartz practices dermatology in South
Burlington, Vermont and is on the medical staff at the Fletcher
Allen Hospital at the University of Vermont.
Dermatology treatments at Topnotch often begin with a consultation
with Dr. Schwartz, who will discuss and recommend the best method

injections, for example, are effective for filling in lines on lips,

If microdermabrasion is indicated, Dr. Schwartz recommends and
uses the Vibraderm Skin Station. This reduces fine lines, wrinkles,
age spots, acne scars and pore size with less trauma to the epidermis
than less recent forms of exfoliation. Vibraderm treatments can
be combined with superficial peels of 50-70% glycolic acid. Known
as “lunchtime peels”, they cause only a mild and temporary
redness. A stronger peel is also available using a 20-35% trichloracetic
acid solution, which can significantly lighten sunspots, roughness
and fine lines. Sclerotherapy is also offered to banish spider veins
from the face and legs.
One of the most exciting skin care advances available at the Topnotch

In a process similar to photosynthesis in plants, the Light Emitting
Diodes (LED) interact with cells and stimulate them to produce more
