STOWE,
VT, August 29, 2005 - Earlier this year, Topnotch
Resort and Spa (www.topnotchresort.com) completed a multimillion-dollar
facelift and blossomed into a 35,000 square foot wood,
stone and glass environment, with more than 120 spa treatments offered
in 30 luxurious treatment rooms. Now, the resort has added a cosmetic
treatment facility that completes its transformation into a true
full-service spa matching contemporary standards.
Guests will find it easy to add a course of rejuvenation to their
Topnotch curriculum of relaxation and renewal. With the latest dermatologic
treatments supervised by board-certified dermatologist Dr. Mitchell
Schwartz, multitasking guests can blend a needed cosmetic procedure
into a Topnotch stay, at the same time enjoying luxurious pampering,
improving ones appearance and slowing the effects of aging.
The return on investment? Being showered with compliments after
the return home looking relaxed, refreshed, and of course, younger.
With the new Medi-Spa facility, we have closed the circle
on bringing our spa product up to the expectations of our discerning
clientele, said Topnotch general manager Dan Oberlander. By
offering cosmetic dermatology treatments under the supervision of
Dr. Mitchell Schwartz, we can help guests maximize their time in
a beautiful, tranquil setting, with a menu of options for the whole
person, from lifestyle coaching through body work treatments, and
now skin rejuvenation.
The services we provide are a good match with a sophisticated
spa environment like Topnotch, added Dr. Schwartz. The
current trend is for dermatologists to start their own spas, but
I am delighted by the opportunity to associate with Topnotch, which
has a secret weapon in its Green Mountain setting - the best natural
smoother I know for reducing stress lines and enhancing smile lines.
Certified by the American Board of Dermatology, Dr. Schwartz is
a member of several professional associations including the American
Society of Cosmetic Dermatology and Aesthetic Surgery, the American
Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American Academy of Dermatology,
the New England Dermatology Society and the Vermont Dermatology
Society. After receiving his medical degree from Hahnemann Medical
College in Philadelphia, PA he completed his internship and residency
in internal medicine at St. Marys Hospital, a major affiliate
of Yale University, and his dermatology residency at Geisinger Medical
Center in Danville, PA. Dr. Schwartz practices dermatology in South
Burlington, Vermont and is on the medical staff at the Fletcher
Allen Hospital at the University of Vermont.
Dermatology treatments at Topnotch often begin with a consultation
with Dr. Schwartz, who will discuss and recommend the best method
of skin rejuvenation and treatment of specific problems. Restylane
injections, for example, are effective for filling in lines on lips,
cheeks and forehead. The number one cosmetic filler in the world,
Restylane is hyaluronic acid gel, not an animal product, and side
effects are very rare. Also available are Botox injections, virtual
magic wands that banish frown lines, crows feet and lip lines.
If microdermabrasion is indicated, Dr. Schwartz recommends and
uses the Vibraderm Skin Station. This reduces fine lines, wrinkles,
age spots, acne scars and pore size with less trauma to the epidermis
than less recent forms of exfoliation. Vibraderm treatments can
be combined with superficial peels of 50-70% glycolic acid. Known
as lunchtime peels, they cause only a mild and temporary
redness. A stronger peel is also available using a 20-35% trichloracetic
acid solution, which can significantly lighten sunspots, roughness
and fine lines. Sclerotherapy is also offered to banish spider veins
from the face and legs.
One of the most exciting skin care advances available at the Topnotch
Medi-Spa is the Gentle Waves LED photomodulation rejuvenation technology.
In a process similar to photosynthesis in plants, the Light Emitting
Diodes (LED) interact with cells and stimulate them to produce more
collagen and elastin to reduce wrinkles and return the skin to a
more youthful appearance.
