SCOTTSDALE, AZ (Sept 1, 2005) ---- The
Lamar Everyday Spa, host of the Beads For Breasts Mardi Gras
Ball, launched Spas For The Cause this week in an effort
to raise funds for The American Red Cross' relief efforts for the
victims of Hurricane Katrina.
"The people who work in spas are care givers
by nature, explains Heidi Lamar, owner of The Lamar Everyday
Spa. They spend their lives taking care of others and have
enormous hearts. Spas For The Cause is a way for them to help the
victims of Hurricane Katrina and those who's hearts go out to them.
This Labor Day weekend, Phoenix residents who decide
to stay in town to avoid the uncertain gas crisis can unwind and
help the Red Cross Relief Effort at the same time. On Labor Day
all proceeds from spa services at The Lamar Everyday Spa will be
donated to the Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Relief Effort. The therapists,
aestheticians, front desk, management and housekeeping staff are
donating their time so that 100% of the profits can benefit this
cause. The Scottsdale Chamber Foundation will match the first $2500
raised. Those who wish to contribute, can purchase a massage or
facial for $100 and the entire $100, plus matching funds from the
Chamber, will go directly to the Red Cross.
The Lamar Everyday Spa is challenging other spas to
join them in this effort. We have some of the best spas in
the world right here in the US, said Lamar. Spas for
the Cause is a chance to prove that the hearts of those who work
in them are as healing as their hands.
