Hotel Kura Hulanda Opens State
of the Art Spa Facility
WILLEMSTAD,
Curacao July 2006 Hotel Kura Hulanda Spa and Casino, an
eight block complex which has been developed into a thriving, historical,
state of the art tourism facility can now add a modern day, sophisticated
spa to its list of amenities. Already consisting of an 80 room hotel
with multiple pools and gardens, the largest museum of slavery artifacts
in the Caribbean, three dining options including the award winning Astrolab,
boutiques and retail shops, the Hotel Kura Hulanda Spa and Casino has
now announced the opening of their new spa facility an oasis
within what is already a private and luxurious retreat.
Doors officially opened June 2006 and the spa is now in
full operation, welcoming guests. The spa is an elegant facility, with
a serene environment allowing patrons to completely relax and unwind
to enjoy any of a number of specialty treatments and packages. There
are six treatment rooms, plus the option for outdoor massages along
with a sauna and steam room. The treatment rooms are located around
a central fitness facility which offers the latest cardiovascular equipment
with "cardio theater" (individual TVs at each machine)
and a fully equipped weight room.
Guests of the spa will also enjoy an outdoor space consisting
of a whirlpool, lounge and yoga/aerobics palapa, offering the opportunity
to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors, soaking up the sun while relaxing
after a decompressing spa treatment. Additionally, there are future
plans to build a health food bar offering smoothies and spa cuisine.
Spa offerings include eight different massage options,
another eight choices of holistic massage specialties, 11 facial options,
including five 90-minute specialty treatments, nine full body treatment
choices, plus nail care and hair removal selections.
Kura Hulandas spa treatments not only help relax
and de-stress, but also have health and cosmetic benefits. For example,
the Water-Chi Massage is an acu-pressure meridian massage in the water
that helps with severe tension and stress, as well as eases pain, back
soreness and joint problems, rheum and arthritis (45 minutes). The Aromatherapy
and Eye Contour Facial is a 60-minute treatment to combat the aging
process of the eye area and the premature appearance of dark shadows
due to tiredness and stress. An in house blend of essential oils and
specialized eastern massage movements help to stimulate and oxygenate
the skin, while bringing the body and mind into balance. Or, visitors
may opt for the full body Reshaping Algae Body Mask, designed with active
ingredients to tone and re-mineralize the skin against water retention
and circulatory problems. Gentlemans Total Care facial, Couples
Massage and Sunburn Relief Body Wrap are just a few of the other menu
choices.
Spa packages are also available, including a 410 minute
Bridal Day Spa, which is a full day of pampering including a 4-hands
Massage, Detoxifying Body Scrub, Thermal Algae Body Mask, Mini Facial
with a Thermal Mask and finally a Spa Pedicure and Manicure.
Perhaps one of the most unique elements of the Kura Hulanda
Spa is their Kids & Teen Spa services, a growing trend in spa operations.
These 15-30 minute treatments allow moms little princess to join
her at the spa and experience a grown-up day. Options include
a 30-minute Well-Being Massage, a Teen Facial, Petite-Toe (pedicure)
and the Princess-cure, a manicure for little hands including a princess
massage treatment and nail polish application. These spa services are
available for kids and teens younger than 15 years old.
