Harrah's Unveils Atlantic City's Largest Indoor
Pool Complex and Glamorous New Red Door Spa
ATLANTIC
CITY, NJ - May 25, 2007 - Harrah's Atlantic
City becomes the official home to "Endless Summer" today with the
debut of a new 172,000-square-foot glass, dome-enclosed swimming pool complex
and Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa.
The Pool, a quarter-acre
entertainment complex within the Harrah's property, was revealed today during
a "splashy" ribbon cutting ceremony where more than 50 Harrah's executives
and employees -- including R. Scott Barber, senior vice president and general
manager of Harrah's Atlantic City and Todd Walter, chief executive officer of
Red Door Spa -- took the first dip in the new 23,000-square-foot, 86,000-gallon
Pool at Harrah's Atlantic City.
Located under a striking,
90-foot-high glass dome, The Pool complex is a lush, tropical oasis featuring
$1 million worth of horticulture dressing an Olympic size pool, six Jacuzzis,
12 cabanas, indoor and outdoor deck areas, as well as The Pool Bar. The Pool complex
will offer guests creative water-tainment both day and night with such engaging
activities as "dive-in" movies, luaus, pool-side spa treatments and
live musical entertainment.
Located adjacent to The Pool complex,
the new Red Door Spa -- which opens to the public on Sunday, May 27th -- spans
23,000 square feet with 23 treatment rooms including a couples deluxe suite with
an in-room Jacuzzi, fireplace and shower. This well-appointed Red Door Spa offers
Elizabeth Arden's comprehensive menu of world-renowned signature spa services
and beauty treatments as well as several Harrah's-exclusive spa packages including
Windfall Spa Experience, Bet on Red Spa Ritual and Jackpot Therapy. A menu of
poolside spa services in private cabanas are also be available. Additional spa
amenities include separate female and male "wet zones" complete with
steam room, sauna and Jacuzzi pool surrounding a fireplace, as well as a specialty
cold shower with rain, mist and turbo jet settings. A full-service fitness center
overlooking the pool area can be accessed from the spa.
The
first phase of Harrah's $550 million expansion project debuted in February 2007
with a new 620-seat contemporary buffet and a retail promenade offering seven
unique shopping outlets. The centerpiece of Harrah's expansion project is a new
961-room, 44-story hotel tower featuring eight super-suites and 104 suites appointed
with limestone floors, freestanding showers, fireplaces, in-room theaters and
plasma televisions. Upon completion in 2008, the new tower will increase Harrah's
hotel capacity by nearly 60 percent, offering a total of 2,272 rooms. The new
tower will also make Harrah's the tallest hotel casino in Atlantic City and the
second tallest building in New Jersey.
