Mountain Lodge to be Unveiled in April 2008 STOWE, VT - November
26, 2007 - Destination Hotels & Resorts will unveil the new Stowe
Mountain Lodge here in April 2008. The opening of the
year-round resort is the culmination of 15 years of planning and collaboration.
Initial planning began in 1992 when Mt. Mansfield Co., the operator for Stowe’s
ski resort, joined with a collection of 20 organizations, including state government
agencies, environmental activism groups, and representatives from the local community
to create a plan for a new $400-million development. The Stowe
Mountain Lodge will be the centerpiece of the new Spruce Peak at Stowe alpine
neighborhood. It will offer 139 guestrooms; 34 fractionally owned units; a 21,000-
square-foot spa; an 18-hole mountain golf course; and access to on-mountain
recreational options. Destination Hotels & Resorts, a
Denver-based privately held lodging management company, has a portfolio of 30
independent, luxury and upscale hotels, resorts and golf clubs. More
