Cal-A-Vie Grand Opening Scheduled
For February 2005
Cal-a-Vie will be celebrating their grand opening next
year in February, National Heart Health Month. The event will christen
the recreation and meeting facility located on the ground floor of the
new state-of-the-art fitness center.
This event promises to draw distinguished guests from
Hollywood, the health and fitness profession, the meeting and event
planning industry and the media.
Owners, John and Terri Havens purchased the fourteen year
old spa in July of 2000; they have invested $15 million dollars in the
spa's general renovation and the new fitness center.
The renovation began with the bath house which was inspired
by ancient Mediterranean, Turkish and Roman baths; followed by the complete
refurbishment of the guest bathrooms; and finally the design, construction
and outfitting of the new 17,000 square-foot facility which will house
the fitness center on the top floor and the meeting and recreation facility
on the ground floor.
Built from the ground up just a pleasant walk from the
"main campus" of the spa, the Fitness Center is costing an
additional $5 million to design, construct and outfit with the very
latest fitness equipment. It will be ready to welcome guests late this
fall, with the grand opening planned for February 2005 - National Heart
