Cheeca Lodge & Spa Unaffected
by Hurricane Triple Play - Resort Welcomes Visitors Back to Florida's
Favorite Vacation Getaway, Says Good-Bye to Charley, Frances and Ivan
Islamorada, Florida Keys - September 16, 2004 - Cheeca
Lodge & Spa in the Florida Keys re-opens today and welcomes guests
to experience Florida's favorite vacation getaway following the triple
play of hurricanes known as Charley, Frances and Ivan. The resort sustained
no damage as a result of these hurricanes and all accommodations, restaurants
and sporting activities are operating as usual.
General Manager Tim Estes reported, "Our emergency
hurricane plans were put into action three times in the past month and
the response from our staff was outstanding. Everyone stepped up to
the plate! Thank goodness, we were spared the devastation that wrecked
havoc on other Florida areas, but in retrospect, this was an excellent
training exercise for our team. I'm very proud of how well everyone
worked together to guarantee the safety of our guests and the preservation
of our infrastructure."
Estes went on to say, "I'm pleased to report that
we came through these storms with flying colors - no damage to our buildings
or the beautiful landscaping. As always, Cheeca is prepared to welcome
guests seeking rest and relaxation amidst the most luxurious surroundings
in the Florida Keys and Hurricanes Charley, Frances and Ivan are officially
ruled outta here!"
