Spa and Wellness Center at Capella Singapore to debut March 2009 October
24, 2008 - Nestled in the lush rainforest of Singapore's Sentosa Island, Capella
Singapore will introduce Southeast Asia's first Auriga. Offering a contemporary
setting complemented by classic Asian elements and landscaping, the Auriga Spa
and Wellness Center will prove an inspiring locale for guests to rest and rejuvenate.
Auriga's distinctive approach to wellness and beauty, based on the cycles of the
moon, takes center stage at Capella Singapore, very much in synergy with the serene
Sentosa Island setting (whose namesake is a Malay word that means "peaceful").
The lunar phases influence every aspect of the Auriga experience, from the ambiance
to the pampering treatments, ultimately aligning guests with the rhythms of nature
for enhanced wellbeing. The Auriga Spa and Wellness Center
encompasses 12,000 square feet, and will offer nine indoor/outdoor experience
rooms, a relaxation room, vitality pool, sauna, herbal steam bath, manicure/pedicure
facilities and fitness center. Guests of Capella Singapore
are welcomed to the spa via a spectacular walkway surrounded by water, leading
to a four-story atrium decorated with fresh flowers.
Capella Singapore's
nine experience spaces include five rooms designed for individual treatments,
a couple's treatment room, a single's suite, couple's suite and a suite dedicated
to traditional Asian therapies such as Shiatsu and Thai Massage. All
experience rooms and suites feature an indoor/outdoor space, each with a private
outdoor garden for lounging along side an elegant lily pond. Spa suites include
a shower and bath, separate steam shower and dressing area.
From the
Relaxation Room, guests will find access to Auriga's outdoor serenity garden.
Stone and grass paths invite guests to "walk in awareness," guided through
the outdoor labyrinth by varying patterns of landscaped flora. Capella
Singapore's three cascading outdoor pools are a visually striking element of the
hotel's landscape, designed to complement the lush, natural setting. The spa's
separate vitality pool will be set near an ice fountain that offers fresh shaved
ice, designed to fire up circulation and boost the immune system. A nearby Japanese
rock garden offers an engaging duality of contrasting water and earth elements. A
quiet reprieve, Auriga's Relaxation Room will include luxurious lounge chairs
and complimentary hot and cold drinks and teas. Guests will also enjoy specialty
beverages designed to harmonize with the current phase of the moon. During the
full moon, for example, a juice featuring Asia's local mangosteen fruit may be
offered, calling upon its energizing properties for this lunar period of celebration.
After the full moon - the cleansing, waning period - a detoxifying elixir of cucumber
and parsley might be presented. Capella Singapore will debut
a fully-equipped fitness center, featuring state-of-the-art Technogym® equipment
and training services.
A signature of the Auriga experience
is its emphasis on the phases of the moon, with treatments designed to correspond
with the lunar cycle. Four signature services correspond with each lunar phase. New
Moon: The Beginning - Treatments during the new moon stage will focus on stimulating
and awakening the body. A foot massage with juniper, rosemary and fennel oils
rouses the spirit and is followed by a seaweed and eucalyptus salt scrub, then
a deeply stimulating seaweed wrap. The treatment ends with a revitalizing rosemary
and eucalyptus massage. Waxing Moon: Sowing the
Seeds -The waxing phase is the time to "sow the seeds" and nourish the
body. Treatments during this phase celebrate the creative spirit through the use
of white jasmine blossoms. A luxurious mask works pressure points on the feet
and is followed by a scalp massage and luxurious petal and salt exfoliation, which
release the creative energies of the mind. The treatment ends with a nurturing
jasmine mask and body massage. Full Moon: The
Height - The full moon brings one to the height of his or her potential and treatments
during this phase incorporate pink roses to signify balance and the realization
of full potential. A foot massage with rose oil is followed by a rose petal and
rose-oil infused salt exfoliation that brings mind and body into harmony. A cleansing
rose wrap then invigorates the body and is followed by a deep massage and lymphatic
facial. Waning Moon: Cleansing - The waning moon
signals a time to cleanse the body and spirit. The spa therapist and guest work
together to identify toxins in the guest's life, which are then addressed in a
foot massage that employs detoxifying oils and pressure point techniques. An exfoliation
is next, using silk gloves to stimulate the elimination of toxins, followed by
a lymphatic massage and cleansing facial.
In
addition to its signature treatments, guests of Auriga will enjoy a selection
of traditional Asian therapies including Reiki, Shiatsu, and Thai Massage. A complementing
selection of scrubs and wraps incorporating regional fruits, herbs and other products
will bring the Singaporean flavor into the Auriga experience. And for Capella
Singapore's sport enthusiast, tailored treatments, such as sports massage for
golfers, will be available. Auriga will offer salon services
including manicures and pedicures. Hairstyling and make-up applications can be
arranged for guests in the privacy of their accommodations.
