Revitalization of historic resort on Tampa Bay
includes expanded spa facilities

SAFETY HARBOR, Fla. (April 22, 2008) - The latest
phase completed in a multi-million dollar renovation plan at Safety
Harbor Resort and Spa has been unveiled within its 50,000 square foot spa
and fitness center. The Spa Sanctuary comprises 14 new treatment rooms designed
to create an even greater sense of tranquility where guests receive custom treatments
at this landmark spa.
Safety Harbor Resort and Spa is Florida's
only natural mineral springs resort spa. The legacy of wellness and well-being
that is the foundation of this landmark spa dates back to 1944 when Dr. Salem
Baranoff, a naturopathic physician from New York, purchased the land and the springs
and created one of the first true destination spas in the United States. Known
as the place "where healing waters flow" this resort spa has welcomed
guests to its waterfront location on Tampa Bay for over 60 years.
Now,
with the addition of the Spa Sanctuary, guests will experience a new level of
comfort and serenity. The new treatment rooms and spa concierge area are bathed
in soothing colors reflecting Florida's natural hues; beautiful artwork and private
rooms with the latest comforts for spa treatments, a lushly landscaped Tranquility
Garden and waterfront views of Tampa Bay create a relaxing sanctuary where guests
can luxuriate in a sensory journey combining massage and facial treatments.
Safety
Harbor Resort and Spa features the Kerstin Florian product line of European skin,
hair and body products exclusively in its treatments and spa boutique. With over
30 spa and salon services, two outdoor and one indoor pool, sauna, steam rooms,
whirlpools and award-winning aquatic fitness programs, this resort offers leisure
travelers and spa vacationers a true spa retreat.
The completion
of the Spa Sanctuary follows the renovation of the resort's 175 guest rooms, as
well as public and meeting space. The resort includes 30,000 square feet of flexible
meeting and social space, including a new ballroom and outdoor venues.
Safety
Harbor Resort and Spa is located on 22 waterfront acres overlooking Tampa Bay,
and is situated on the site of natural mineral springs discovered by Spanish explorers
in 1539. The resort and spa was acquired in December, 2004 by Olympia Development
Group, Inc. which has implemented a multi-phased plan to revitalize and restore
this historic property. For more information on Safety Harbor Resort and Spa,
