JW Marriott
Starr Pass Resort & Spa Scheduled to Open January 2005: The First
New Resort to Open in 18 Years in Tucson
Tucson, Arizona (October 2004) Tucson is hot this
winter
and not just literally. The desert is sizzling with new
cultural and resort offerings. In January, the first new resort in the
area in 18 years, JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa, will open.
This comes on the heels of new direct flights to Tucson and Phoenix
(just two hours away by car) and the creation of a buzz about Arizonas
lesser-known city to the south. With a population of more than 800,000,
the once sleepy desert town now offers visitors a lively mix of culture,
outdoor adventure, history and sunshine, making it the perfect backdrop
for Southern Arizonas newest and largest resort. The Old
Pueblo provides the most authentic Arizona experience in the Sonoran
Desert, with indigenous plants and wildlife right outside the doorstep.
