Mamilla
Hotel launches Akasha Wellbeing Retreat in Jerusalem

Jerusalem,
June 2010: Located in the heart of the beautiful city of Jerusalem, Akasha Wellbeing
Retreat opens this Summer in the region's first design-led luxury lifestyle hotel,
Mamilla Hotel. Open
to hotel guests and a select number of local members, Akasha delivers a harmonious
experience that is both vibrant and relaxed. The vision behind Akasha is that
in order to secure health, success, happiness and fulfillment, one needs to balance
the body, mind and spirit.
In an extraordinary 1,000 square
meter space designed by Mamilla Hotel's interior architect, Piero Lissoni, and
located minutes from Jerusalem's Old City walls, Akasha provides a unique wellbeing
experience that assists guests and members in promoting their health and human
potential while improving personal balance.
A Holistic Experience
Akasha
is named after the Sanskrit word referring to the eternal source of the four basic
elements of nature enabling life: fire, water, air and earth. The name reflects
a core vision to provide a wellbeing journey that brings together the four elements
in harmony, enabling transformation and re-balancing. At Akasha, fire is represented
by the Gym, water by the Spa, air by the Yoga, Pilates & Meditation Rooms
and earth by the Organic Bar.
Corresponding to Mamilla Hotel's
vision, Akasha offers - for the first time in the region - a true and comprehensive
lifestyle experience that appeals to the emotional needs of a well-travelled and
informed clientele. With this approach, Akasha aims to achieve its mission: to
welcome guests to feel a "shining through" experience.
Design
& Facilities
Piero Lissoni's design for Mamilla Hotel has already won
acclaim across a substantial proportion of the world's most prestigious design,
interiors and travel publications. The Lissoni studio's inspiring and outstanding
designs for Akasha are no less captivating, incorporating Feng Shui principles,
Colour Subconscious Theory and a combination of different sensory stimuli to create
a particularly warm, joyful and relaxed atmosphere. In the music meditation room,
for example, a mixture of ever-changing sounds, light and images, aligned with
the four elements, will combine create a transformative effect. World-class facilities
are incorporated throughout Akasha. The Gym features leading edge Technogym®
equipment including Kinesis machines, a spacious aerobics and spinning room
and a private training room. The Spa is built on an infinity pool that gently
spills over its edges to create a relaxed natural waterfall sound effect, and
includes a Watsu pool for hydro-treatments as well as a private hammam treatment
room. The Yoga Room features Pilates equipment and offers intimate and personalized
classes. The Organic Bar offers nourishing juices, natural energy drinks and healthy
meals. Open throughout the day as well as into the night, Akasha serves as an
alternative nighttime entertainment venue for guests and members who share a common
lifestyle that combines health consciousness and wellbeing appreciation with relaxation
and enjoyment.
Integrating Innovative Techniques
Akasha
integrates innovative Western and Eastern practices with natural healing techniques
to offer a range of practices from massage to specialized rejuvenation and beauty
treatments. In addition, Akasha offers a full range of self-improvement content
including balancing meditation, NLP-guided meditation, AcuEnergetics, Aura-soma,
breathing technique, energy healing, pulsation and rebalancing. All treatments
are conducted by experts from both Israel and abroad, under the guidance of Akasha's
Director, Guy Nadler. "In providing an experience that represents a celebration
of the senses and creates an 'energy field' that makes one feel relaxed, safe,
welcomed and loved, Akasha will inspire visitors to reach higher levels of renewal,
empowerment and fulfillment" says Nadler. Akasha also offers tailored, individualized
programs. These include a diverse range of activities, exercises, holistic practices
and creative classes that contribute to enhanced wellbeing, including yoga, organic
eating and lifestyle coaching seminars that give patrons the tools to be healthier,
happier and more fulfilled with their lives. Wellbeing packages and renewal weekends
will also be offered.
