Bora Lagoon Resort & Spa Introduces Five New Signature Products
Blended and Bottled in Tahiti
Orient-Expresss Marù
Spa at the Bora Bora Lagoon Resort & Spa has just introduced
five new signature products that were made under the direction of Spa
Director Rachelle Moulai. Blended and bottled in Tahiti through a local,
small-batch producer, they are available exclusively for purchase through
the Marù Spa (either in person or via e-mail). The private label
line relies wholly on local natural ingredients and is blended to create
the most harmonized properties for mind, body and soul.
Tamanu Oil (4.33 fl oz 35 euros)
Derived from the nut of Tamanu tree, the pure Tamanu oil is used for
its anti-bacterial properties and as a skin regenerator. A mainstay
of traditional Polynesian healers for massage it also provides relief
from sunburn.
Noni Monoi (8 fl oz 21 euros)
Monoi means sacred oil in Tahiti, and this elixir forms the base for
several Maru Spa products. Derived from the maceration of coconut, botanicals,
the luscious oil moisturizes, nourishes and protects both skin and hair.
The Noni Monoi combines the oil with macerated Noni leaves, thereby
drawing on the anti-oxidant and energizing effect of Noni. In Tahiti
the Noni Monoi is used by the locals for massage; and is said to help
with water retention, decongestion and stimulates skin repair.
Vanilla Monoi (4.33 oz 20 euros)
Tahitian Vanilla combined with monoi oil for use in massage and skin
hydration.
Noni Body Mousse (8 fl oz 49 euros)
A light emulsion of Monoi Tiare, vanilla Tahitian oil, Noni extract,
Tiare flower extract and Sandalwood extract. This moisturizing body
mousse hydrates and softens the skin leaving it silky smooth.
Pineapple Body Polish (8 fl oz 54 euros)
This exfoliating body butter, contains organic sugar and lychee seeds,
monoi and vanilla oil. A skin illuminator, this product will help exfoliate
the skin and hydrate with Monoi butter giving an overall shine and glow.
All product are available at the spa or via an e-mail
order to rachelle.moulai@bblr.pf. The five new products complement Marùs
existing line which was introduced in 2005, which include:
Tamanu Balm (2 oz., 27 Euros): Derived from the
sacred Tamanu tree this product is blended with coconut oil, beeswax
and botanicals. This healing ointment regenerates skin cells and restores
connective tissue. Tamanu provides instant relief from sunburn, dehydration,
insect bites and rashes, and provides a wonderful healing massage for
everyday skin.
Moana Lagoon Body Scrub (8 oz., 54 Euros). The
white sand of Bora Bora is legendary and it is this sand that serves
as a base of the lagoon scrub with addedMonoi oil and other botanicals.
The result: a deep moisturizing treatment that also exfoliates.
Monoi Oils (each 4 oz, 20 Euros):
Opened in May of 2004, Marù spa features six treatment
rooms set either waterfront or 12 feet above ground in the branches
of two 40-foot Caoutchouc (fiscus altimssima/False Banyon) trees. The
setting matches the symbiotic pleasures of the treatments offered within.
Marù in Polynesian translates in English to kind, gentle, slowly,
soft of sound, soft of touch, which captures the tactile oasis offered
within.
