In this beautiful canyon, hidden away from the world lies an oasis. Here,
there is a confluence of nature and the spirit world that has been recognized
by Native Americans for thousands of years. Nestled in the heart of a private
red rock canyon, bathed in beauty, one learns to walk in harmony with nature.
Mii amo has create a space where one can learn to live in this harmony at one
of the most sacred healing places on Earth. In the Yuman dialect of Native American
language, Mii amo (me ah moe) means a journey or passage. Daily in Mii amo, spiritual
ceremonies honoring the union and balance of sacred earth elements will be celebrated
in the Crystal Grotto near the main entrance. The dome shaped grotto is fashioned
after the traditional Native American “kiva”, which is a room used for
rituals and cultural observances. Adorned with crystals spotted by natural light
from the sky through an opening in the ceiling of the grotto, this sacred space
within Boynton Canyon will see the daily blending of essential oils and other
rites.
Spa Facilities:
The 24,000-square-foot, two-level main building is nestled into the natural slope
of the red-rock canyon wall. Simple lines, monumental forms, and pure materials—adobe
brick, wood details, indigenous stone-- blend organically with the surrounding
environment. Natural light and water are recurring themes, interior and exterior
spaces flow into one another. The signature form is a 172 foot-long horizontal
spine from which will rise 5 adobe brick towers inspired by the cliff dwellings
of the Anasazi. Communal areas and pools are on the ground level; treatment rooms
are housed in the towers. Interior spaces follow geometric forms built in natural
adobe style. Native American-inspired colors, design elements, and hand-woven
rugs, with bamboo and terrazzo floors. Signature pieces include antique Indonesian
rice boxes used as tables. Mii amo is located on the property of Enchantment Resort
east of the main entrance and secluded from guest areas. Accessible to the guests
of Enchantment Resort by walking paths and a land bridge connecting the two properties,
the main spa building includes 7 bodies of water, 24 treatment rooms, elaborate
men’s and women’s locker rooms, aerobic studio, retail shop, library,
herb garden and an exhibition-style kitchen that will serve an 80 seat spa cuisine
restaurant highlighted by a 16 seat communal style table reserved especially for
Mii amo guests. The fitness room is located on the first floor. There is a variety
of Cybex equipment, including treadmills, EFX machines, free weights, and a Pilates
Reformer. Personal trainers available for private sessions. In
