June 12,
2009 In the context of the Spa Event 2009 in Zell/See, the European Health
& Spa Awards were granted for the first time on the ninth of June. The award
is the most distinguished honor of the industry; spas, treatments, and products
are critically and carefully examined, and undergo an extensive assessment involving
a catalog of criteria as well as a two-phase jury trial. The total value of the
awarded sum amounts to more than 30,000 Euro. The European Health & Spa Award
was awarded by the Agency for Health and Wellness. The primary goal of the

and Best Signature Body Treatment categories. High Degree of Innovation and
Customer-Friendliness The jury modestly declared his Salve-in-terra spa bed
as well as the newly developed Permanent Contour method (steam-heated
herb pouches) to have a high degree of innovation and customer-friendliness. Jury
member Roswitha Kliesch, long-time beauty consultant and cosmetics expert, said,
The jury was convinced by the price-performance ratio, the highly-qualified
training program, and the sustainability and creativity of the product.

that the title Best Thermal Resort has brought to his company. For Best Medical
Resort the jury turned to VIVA The Center for Modern Mayr Medicine.
Internationally
top-ranked in the best discipline - Best Hotel Spa The last category was truly
international! Nominated for the title as Best Hotel Spa were the SPA Hotel Jagdhof
(Austria), the AROSEA Life Balance Hotel (Italy), Kempinsky Grand Hotel des Bains
(Czech Republic), Traumhotel
liebes Rot Fühl (Austria), SenSpa at Careys
Manor (United Kingdom), Hotel Schloss Fuschl (Austria), and the MAVIDA Balance
Hotel & Spa (Austria). The victory went to Great Britain, to The Spa at Pennyhill
Park Hotel, nested into the lovely landscape west of London, not far from Windsor
Castle. Jury member Miranda Allard from Spa Austria.com was excited by all means
to be able to give a laudation to her fellow countrymen. Today I am also
proud to be a Brit.
Assessment in seven criteria The
starting point for the jury review was a multi-faceted, comprehensive questionnaire.
The jury made the assessments according to six criteria and could award at most
five points in each category. Design and Technology, Offers and Service, Value/Benefit
(Productivity and Increased Efficiency), Cost Effectiveness, Sustainability, and
Creativity. Last but certainly not least, the personal impression and experience
in the spa, with the treatment or the submitted product - for which the jury could
award up to ten points - was of central significance.
