2006 Spa Reviews by Julie Register The
following are reviews of some of the spas Julie Register visited in 2006 |
Julie
Register spends the week before Christmas with her husband at Rancho
La Puerta in Tecate, Mexico. Instead of eating holiday cookies, they enjoyed
delicious, satisfying and healthy (mostly) vegetarian meals. Instead of rushing
around doing holiday shopping, they hiked and attended fitness classes, participated
in a traditional Mexican Posada, visited an organic garden, learned how to distill
essential oils, and much more. | |
Julie
Register has a conversation with Deborah Szekely, founder of Rancho La Puerta,
about her philanthropic accomplishments, Rancho La Puerta, the new cooking school,
the environment, processed foods, psychological calories, life priorities and
more.

Brazilian spa with an Asian flavor in New York City - a facial with crushed pearls,
a microcurent collagen treatment, a Chinese manual facelift, reflexology and more;
an exfoliating and detoxifying body treatment in an Oceana Spa capsule with a
lymphatic drainage face and scalp massage; and a great combination deep tissue,
aromatherapy, and hot stone massage. | Julie
Register tries a Townhouse Purifying Facial and a SpaOceana Detox at Townhouse
Spa, a three-level, "social spa" in a renovated townhouse in Midtown
Manhattan. | Julie
Register experiences a WET Signature Wrap at the newly redecorated WET,
the Spa at TI - the first time she visited this spa at Treasure Island in
Las Vegas since 2000. | Julie

- Skin Deep MedSpa in Greenville,
Delaware | Julie

her anniversary getaway at the Four
Seasons Washington DC. | | Julie
Register experiences a Platza, a revitalizing experience of venik bundled oak
leaves brushed against sauna-warmed skin, in the authentic Russian Banya at OKEANOS
followed by an efficient and effective Russian Sports Massage. The grand finale
was caviar, smoked salmon, blini and a light berry pastry from Petrossian served
in OKEANOS' Lounge.

Register experiences a 90-minute Vida Canadian Maple Body Exfoliation at Vida

sugar and ended with a great 60-minute massage. |
Julie
Register stays at the Wedgewood Hotel
and Spa in Vancouver. "I was ready for The Ultimate Cinnamon Enzyme Facial.
I had been looking forward to this for weeks. I've had facial treatments with
just about every kind of foodstuff imaginable - mango, papaya, avocado, cucumber,
yogurt - but never cinnamon. Actually, this is the first spa I've seen with a
cinnamon treatment. You may have guessed by now...I love cinnamon! However, just
because I like something doesn't mean it's good for my skin..." |
Julie
Register stays at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre Hotel and experiences an
Abhyanga Swedana Massage at Vida
Wellness Spa. Using dosha-customizedherbs and oils, this fabulous three-part
treatment includes a four-hand massage, herbal steam and exfoliation with barley
flour. |

You can clean your home, fruits, vegetables and meats with the same 'Aqueous Ozone' that spas and other companies use. Tersano's ‘Aqueous Ozone’ Cleaning Systemt is the world's most effective chemical-free cleaner. ‘Aqueous Ozone’ quickly oxidizes (kills) viruses and bacteria (including E.coli, Salmonella, MRSA, C-Difficil), mold, mildew and other contaminants on any item or surface - from toilets to bedspreads - before changing safely back into water and oxygen. ‘Aqueous Ozone’ is 3000 times faster and 50% more powerful than bleach and chlorine-based cleaners. It is 100% chemical free - no toxins, carcinogens or chemical residue - and safe for babies, pets and people with sensitive skin or those with strong reactions to normal cleaners. ‘Aqueous Ozone’ has long been used in water treatment, food sterilization and medical therapies for its remarkable anti-viral, and anti-fungal properties. It sounds too good to be true, but the data show how effective the system works.
I'm a believer.
