Description: America’s first new Atlantic Ocean-front spa in over 25 years, opened on November 17th on Sea Island, Georgia. The Spa at Sea Island – a Resource for Health, Fitness and Wellness - iis located between an undeveloped five-mile long white sand beach on its west and acres of green-gold salt marsh of nature preserve to its east. Groves of braided, woven ancient oaks with Spanish moss anchor the area’s singular beauty. Sea Island, Georgia, is best known for its year-round weather, its fabled flagship hotel, The Cloister, and its 78 years of continuously being family owned and family run. The Spa at Sea Island is noted for offering all the attributes of a destination spa, with proximity to the legendary Cloister, newly rebuilt in 2006. The Spa at Sea Island is also adjacent to The Lodge, the founding family’s other award-winning destination on Sea Island.

Treatments & Programs: Guests work one on one with a Spa Service Guide to create a tailored spa experience accommodating each individual’s needs. Program options enable guests to discover their own blend of soothing therapies, healthy workouts, classes, personal training or purposeful skincare treatments. Teachers, guides and providers at the Spa offer a multitude of massages and body treatments, which incorporate a variety of wisdoms and techniques. Sea Island’s Track Club Coach Bruce Kritzler shares his passion for people and expanding possibilities with guests of all levels looking either to begin or expand their personal running programs. Wellness Chef Laurie Erickson and Nutritionist Joyce Mattox inspire guests with their passion for creating Healthy Lifestyle Plans. Spa Facilities: At 65,000 square feet, the Spa has 23 Treatment Rooms where providers deliver authentic and enjoyable treatments personalized to the individual. A contemplative garden invites the discerning guest seeking seclusion. The Fitness Center includes three Squash Courts, four Studios dedicated to Fitness, Pilates, Yoga and Personal Training, and a full circuit of strength and cardiovascular equipment.

Other Facilities: There are 10 restaurants. Three 18-hole championship courses include Seaside Course (par 70), Plantation Course (par 72) and Retreat Course (par 70). The Sea Island Golf Learning Center offers clinics, private and group lessons. 18 Har-Tru, fast-dry clay composition Tennis courses are provided, including ten at Retreat and eight on Sea Island, with one stadium court. State-of-the-art Dartfish technology is showcased and lighted courts are offered for evening play. The Beach Club offers five-miles of private beach, two pools, lockers, steam room and dry sauna make up the Beach Club. Instruction: swim lessons, aquatics, scuba and snorkeling. Rentals: cabanas, sea kayaks and Hobie cat sailboats. Shooting Skeet, trap and five-stand sporting clays are provided for experienced
School and novice shooters, as well as a ten-station sporting clays range. Private or group lessons with NSCA- and NSSA-certified instructors. Trail guides and naturalists offer guided horseback rides along the beach. Private and group lessons and clinics, ring riding and boarding are available. Nature Charters are arranged for anglers, inshore, coastal, offshore and salt water fly-fishing. Instruction available.
