Baths & Spa at Caesars Palace Las Vegas
Julie Register experienced this hotel spa in Nevada
November 2008

I
toured the Qua Baths & Spa facilities at Caesars Palace Las Vegas a week or
so before it officially opened in November 2006. It blew me away, and I couldn't
wait to actually expereince the spa. It took two years, but I finally made it
back to Las Vegas, and spa priority #1 was Qua. I won't keep you in suspense.
It was worth the wait. Despite a few small hiccups, I love, love, love the baths!
 Qua
Baths & Spa Retail Boutique and Reception | The
Roman Baths | Qua Baths and Spa is
located on the 2nd level of the Augustus Tower. The spa reception is at the far
end of a well stocked retail boutique. Linda and I checked in and were told to
go through the doors to the women's baths, and see the attendant. This is the
first of three small hiccups in the experience. There was only one attendant,
and it took her what felt like a long time (more than 10 minutes) to get to us.
Once she did, we understood why.
 Laconium | Arctic
Ice Room | She showed us
to our lockers, explained the robe sauna and gave us a tour of the extensive facilities:
Roman Baths - consisting of three distinct pools, varying in temperature and size.
Begin in the largest of the pools, the Tepidarium, with warm mineral-enriched
waters to help restore natural elements of your body's skin. Then alternate between
two smaller pools, the Caldarium and the Frigidarium. The hot waters of the Caldarium
ease daily tension and soothe tired muscles, while a quick plunge into the cold
waters of the Frigidarium invigorates your body. Water massages, Thermal Stone
Deep Relaxation Chaises and exhilarating overhead rain showers complete this spectacular,
one-of-a-kind experience. Laconium - inspired
by the ancient Roman steam baths, the Laconium sauna uses heat to warm your body
from the inside out, keeping it warm and loose between treatments. Sit with partners
or friends as the Laconium stimulates circulation and reduces stress. The result
is a feeling of physical and mental tranquility.
Arctic Ice Room - Surrounded by a beautiful dome ceiling and glass tiled walls,
the Arctic Ice Room is a place to unwind. Heated floors and benches comfort you
in the crisp 55 degree room as falling snow relieves your stress. Tea
Lounge - The in-house Tea Sommelier will create and pair beverages, hot or cold,
with spa treatments, ensuring your palate is pampered along with the rest of your
body. Herbal Steam room Cedar

The attendant gave
us her undivided attention for the entire tour. We asked questions and did not
feel rushed or like she had something else she had to get back to. Qua
Baths & Spa also features 51 treatment rooms (not on the tour) including:
3 deluxe Couple's Studios
7
facial rooms
Wet rooms featuring Vichy showers
Crystal Body Art Room
The
Men's Zone, including a Barber Spa

| Couple's
Studio | I had a little time before
my treatment time, so after I showered and changed into my robe and sandals. A
towel shortage was the second hiccup, but was remedied as soon as we asked about
it. I enjoyed the steam room and sauna and cooled off in between and afterwards
in the Arctic Ice Room. I thought it was a bit gimmicky on the tour two years
ago, but I loved being in it now. I stood in the center of the room with arms
outstretched and face up, savoring every flake as it melted on my hot skin. I'll
take the ice room over a cold plunge pool any day. It's so much gentler and achieves
the same results. I moved to the Tea Lounge to
wait for my service. The attendant who was so busy when we checked in came up
to me, addressed me by name and asked if she could prepare tea for me or get anything
else for me. I was stunned. She must have toured at least 20 other women since
she last saw me, and she was able to pick me out by name! I was impressed. She
prepared a cup of tea for me and served it on a small silver tray. She tidied
up the room and left.
 Women's
Tea Lounge | Vichy
Shower | Tudy soon came
to escort me to a wet treatment room equipped with a Vichy shower. I was about
to have a 50-minute Exfoliation Body Scrub. Tudy started with by vigorously scrubbing
my body with a pleasent smelling gritty paste, then she started the shower. The
seven orchestrated shower heads went back and forth, wide and narrow. It reminded
me of the fountain display at Longwood Gardens where the fountains are synchronized
to music. Although I suffered quite a bit of water up the nose (hiccup 3), I enjoyed
the treatment. Later I was told this is also called Dancing Waters.
How appropriate. Other services offered by Qua Baths &

After
the treatment, I enjoyed lying on the thermal stone deep relaxation chaises by
the Roman Baths and chatting with Linda. She didn't have a treatment but was perfectly
happy enjoying the baths. The baths are based on fundamental traditions
of Roman culture, specifically communal activities, where people gathered to relax,
tell stories and free themselves from the common day. Qua is the ideal place for
relaxed "Social Spa-ing." In my opinion, Qua has done a spectacular job of branding.
I feel relaxed just looking at the dreamlike blue images in it's brochure and
on its web site and read, "Through water we emerge. We are renewed."
and "We are released from the everyday." The art hanging on the spa's
walls echo the theme. It's just lovely, and the images do a fabulous job of representing
the water experience at Qua. I see them and want to be there. The best thing is
that the experience lives up to the branding promise. Qua Bath & Spa opened
in Caesars Atlantic City in June. I'm looking forward to experiencing it, too
(and it's much closer to home!!).

You can clean your home, fruits, vegetables and meats with the same 'Aqueous Ozone' that spas and other companies use. Tersano's ‘Aqueous Ozone’ Cleaning Systemt is the world's most effective chemical-free cleaner. ‘Aqueous Ozone’ quickly oxidizes (kills) viruses and bacteria (including E.coli, Salmonella, MRSA, C-Difficil), mold, mildew and other contaminants on any item or surface - from toilets to bedspreads - before changing safely back into water and oxygen. ‘Aqueous Ozone’ is 3000 times faster and 50% more powerful than bleach and chlorine-based cleaners. It is 100% chemical free - no toxins, carcinogens or chemical residue - and safe for babies, pets and people with sensitive skin or those with strong reactions to normal cleaners. ‘Aqueous Ozone’ has long been used in water treatment, food sterilization and medical therapies for its remarkable anti-viral, and anti-fungal properties. It sounds too good to be true, but the data show how effective the system works.
I'm a believer.
