JW Marriott Mumbai's Quan Spa Wins "New Spa of the Year" Award at Prestigious Asia Spa's Baccarat Awards

Mumbai, India - November 20, 2006 - JW Marriott Mumbai's Quan Spa won the "New Spa of the Year" award at the highly anticipated Baccarat Asia Spa Awards held in Hong Kong on November 16th.

Over 180 spa industry VIPs, nominated spa representatives and personalities attended, making it one of the biggest spa parties of the year.

A panel of 26 Asia-based spa experts nominated the spas and resorts for the Baccarat Asia Spa Awards, which are announced in the November/December 2006 issue of Asia Spa.

"We are absolutely delighted to receive this recognition from Asia Spa and the panel of industry experts who voted for us", said Richard Lyon, General Manager.

Quan Spa at JW Marriott Mumbai is a showcase of stunning cutting edge design by Zoran Dzunic, and offers an exquisite range of spa treatments inspired by ancient Ayurvedic Health and Beauty Rituals.

To further celebrate, the JW Marriott Mumbai launches a spectacular coffee table book on Quan Spa with Bollywood Celebrity Model Feroze Gujral and Renowned Photographer Jatim Kampani.

Photography was compiled by reknown photographer Jatim Kampani, and showcases 68 pages of spectacular visuals capturing the Quan's theme of 'relax, reflect, revitalize and rejoice'. A 10 day festival following the launch celebrated beautifully compiled shots from the book that were canvassed on the interior and exterior façade of the hotel.

Models
The Quan Cofffee Table Book was unveiled by the ethereal Feroze Gujral, a well known model and socialite who has also graced the photography throughout the book. Feroze Gujral mesmerizes the lens with her personality, stunning features, presence and serenity, which are direct reflections of Quan. Lending a refreshing angle is Nazrana Hassat, adding a sublime effect of youth, beauty, contentment and tranquility, again highlighting the various moods that Quan creates.

Photographer Jatim Kampani, has done justice to the distinct design elements of Quan with its smooth white lines, aqua sculpture, water window, strewn spices, the symbolic use of the chakras and vivid colors. Unique camera angles have resulted in a stunning collection of photography

Design
Designed by Zoran Dzunic, the Quan Spa is suffused with calm hues of white and turquoise. Soft white leather armchairs, blue-green terrazzo tables, a sculpture of a person immersed in water by renowned sculptor, Sunil Padwal, act as precursors of the bliss that is in store for guests. It represents the cleansing process of a person who, after entering the spa tranquility zone, just leaves his thoughts and worries behind.

Bathed in rich warm tones of burgundy, corridors are softly lit with candles burning outside each room. Attention to detail is the cornerstone of the design element and is captured and showcased beautifully in the Quan Coffee Table Book.
